A number of very important changes to the website:
1. Completely comprehensive in terms of all Supreme court cases, high court cases and tribunal judgments. If you are not able to find a judgment, please leave a message on this thread and I will look into it.
2. Each act now has complete legislative history (when certain words/sections are added and deleted from the main act). For example check out all modifications to Income Tax Act at http://www.indiankanoon.com/doc/789969/
This information was already present in indiacode.nic.in However I stripped that out earlier for easy parsing. Now the parser can take this data as well.
3. More intuitive searching. doctypes used to be a parameter for restrictricting search to a few document types. For example, doctypes: 20 restricted search to only supreme court documents. This was very confusing to me in that I have to remember the document types or go to the advanced search page.
Now you can restrict doctypes by broad categories as doctypes: laws or doctypes: judgments or doctypes: tribunals or doctypes: others. You can use combinations of them separated by a comma. For example to search for freedom of speech in court judgments and tribunals type
freedom of speech doctypes: judgments, tribunals
You can use particular courts and tribunals as well. For example here is the list of words you can use to restrict doctypes.

judis.nic.in is the primary source of court judgments for indian kanoon. Unfortunately, Judis became an obfuscated website with none of the judgments having a stable URL. As a result no one can link to their judgment.
Furthermore indiankanoon was not able to update the judgment database. So I reverse engineered judis and updated the indiankanoon database. The reverse engineering code is available under GPLv3 license at:
http://code.google.com/p/judis-re/

Finally I was able to put together the code for Indian Kanoon forums. It is available under GPLv3 license at http://code.google.com/p/djangobb08/
This is named djangobb - Django Bulletin Board as it uses the django framework (http://djangoproject.com)
Comments, suggestions and patches are all welcome!

Here are the new set of changes:
1. Integration of constituent assemble debates with the constitution and the judgments. Thanks to Tarunabh Khaitan for helping me in this integration. You can see all the debates here:
http://www.indiankanoon.com/search/?formInput=title%3A+constituent+assembly+debates
2. New logo and design of the website. Logo is designed using Inkscape vector graphics editor (inkscape.org) and color selection has been aided by colorcombos.com
3. We show a text excerpt in a document matching the query. This is called headline generation with respect to a set of query terms. Bugs in headline generation has been fixed and is ready to be integrated into the postgres database:
